Job summary

AssemblyAI, Inc. seeks a skilled software engineer to own the agent experience, developing and maintaining agent skills and integrations. You will work closely with the Product Engineering team to ship prompts, tools, and samples that empower developers to build production-grade integrations with AssemblyAI.

You will collaborate with senior engineers, shipping scalable agent capabilities and writing clear technical guidance, while measuring success with practical evals and benchmarks.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional software engineering experience with solid full-stack fundamentals (JavaScript and/or Python).
• Daily, hands-on use of coding agents such as Claude Code, Cursor or Codex and curiosity about what makes them succeed or fail.
• Hands-on experience writing prompts, skills, tool definitions or agent instructions.

Responsibilities

• Drive the agent experience and treat coding agents as a first-class user of AssemblyAI.
• Build and maintain agent skills for core products.
• Build on our MCP server and agent integrations and enable plug-ins with key agents.
