Job summary

Akina, Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer 2 to design, develop, test, deploy, document, and maintain complex software for HPC and data-intensive systems in a Linux environment.

The role emphasizes Python, Unix/Linux, and container technologies, with a focus on scalable analytics and real-time processing. The candidate will collaborate with system and hardware engineers, lead teams as needed, and contribute to software design decisions including trade-offs, OSS/GOTS options, and CM practices.

Qualifications

• Experience developing in Unix and shell scripting.
• Knowledge of CM tools and Web Services implementation.
• Ability to derive design and performance requirements from user needs.
• Debugging and defect resolution of existing software.
• Experience with agile development processes and Git.
• Lead one or more software development teams as needed.
• Develop and maintain HPC Linux-based system management software.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, document, and maintain software systems.
• Work on analytics, large data sets, real-time systems, and data repositories.
• Review tests and ensure adherence to design requirements.
• Collaborate with system engineers and hardware engineers on requirements.
• Implement algorithms to meet performance and functional standards.
