Job summary

Otterbrook is building an early-stage engineering team in New York City to deploy AI-powered solutions for healthcare organizations. We seek Forward Deployed Engineers who thrive on direct customer engagement and real-world impact, working with clinicians, operators, and tech teams.

You’ll own meaningful projects from discovery through production, collaborating across disciplines, and contributing to scalable engineering practices as the company grows.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong programming and software development fundamentals.
• Experience building and deploying production applications.
• Familiarity with AI/LLMs, APIs, integrations, or workflow automation.
• Comfortable working directly with customers and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong communication, curiosity, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to operate independently in a fast-moving environment.
• Based in New York City or willing to relocate.

We're partnering with a healthcare technology VC focused on deploying AI solutions across some of the world's leading healthcare institutions.

The company has established relationships with major healthcare systems globally and is building an engineering team to develop and implement AI-powered solutions that improve clinical and operational workflows.

This is an opportunity to join at an early stage, work directly with customers, and play a meaningful role in building a rapidly growing business.

The company expects to hire 30–50 engineers over the next 12 months.

The Role

We're looking for Forward Deployed Engineers who enjoy solving complex problems, working directly with customers, and building technology that gets used in the real world.

You'll work alongside healthcare professionals, operational leaders, and technical teams to identify challenges, develop solutions, and deploy them into production.

The role combines software engineering, applied AI, and hands-on customer engagement.
