Forward Deployed Engineer - Applied AI

Xpertise is partnering with a healthcare AI company to hire a Forward Deployed Engineer in New York City.

This is a hands-on engineering role with direct customer ownership. You'll work with healthcare teams to understand their challenges, build and deploy production software, and stay involved as those systems are used in practice.

What you'll do

• Work directly with customers to understand their workflows and turn requirements into technical solutions.
• Build, deploy and maintain production software.
• Own customer projects, including delivery plans and technical implementation.
• Collaborate with engineering colleagues to resolve issues and improve deployed systems.
• Visit customer sites when needed, with approximately 10% travel.

What we're looking for

• Around 3-6 years of software engineering experience, including time in a customer-facing role.
• Experience shipping and maintaining production systems used by real customers.
• Strong engineering fundamentals; Node.js, TypeScript and React experience is preferred.
• Experience leading projects and taking responsibility for customer deliverables.
• A computer science or equivalent technical degree.
• Evidence of strong achievement through your work, career progression, education or technical projects.
• Willingness to work onsite in New York City.

Healthcare workflow or electronic health record integration experience would be useful, but is not essential.

Your current title could be Software Engineer, Full Stack Engineer, Implementation Engineer or Forward Deployed Engineer. What matters is your ability to build software and work directly with customers to get it into production.
