Job summary

Cox Automotive is seeking Software Development Interns to join the team and learn from leaders in a hands-on environment. This internship offers exposure to enterprise platforms, deployment pipelines, security monitoring, and automation across public/private clouds, with a pathway to full-time opportunities after graduation.

You will collaborate with a team, gain practical experience in coding, automation and modern development practices, and work at a Cox location with no remote option.

Qualifications

• College student pursuing a BA/BS in computer science or related field.
• Passion for technology, reverse engineering and coding.
• Collaborative, with clear verbal and written communication.
• Experience with Windows and Linux systems, containers and databases.
• Experience with source code, build, deploy, orchestration and config management tools.
• Experience writing code in at least one high-level language.
• Ability to automate manual tasks and improve processes with automation.
• Familiarity with public cloud architecture, preferably AWS, and Agile methods.

Responsibilities

• Develop automation for infrastructure provisioning and configuration management across environments.
• Document new development, procedures or test plans as needed.
• Follow security and engineering standards and best practices.
• Build tools and pipelines to enable continuous integration and delivery.
• Automate code packaging, deployment and configuration management processes.
• Solicit feedback from delivery and operations teams to improve throughput and quality.
• Monitor system and service performance across environments and escalate as needed.
• Leverage AI tools to assist in productivity, testing and automation.
