Job summary

Cox Enterprises is seeking Software Development Interns to join our team and learn from experienced engineers. You will develop and manage automation across enterprise platforms, pipelines, and monitoring, while gaining exposure to public clouds and security standards.

You will collaborate with a supportive team and a dedicated mentor, building practical skills in software development, automation, and infrastructure management.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a BA/BS in computer science or a related field.
• Experience with Windows and Linux systems, containers and databases.
• Experience with source code, build, deploy, orchestration and configuration management tools.
• Experience in writing code in at least one high-level language.
• Familiarity with AWS and public cloud architectures.
• Knowledge of Agile concepts (Scrum/Kanban).
• Interest in building secure, scalable applications and automation.

Responsibilities

• Developing automation for infrastructure provisioning and procedures across environments.
• Documenting new development, procedures or test plans as needed.
• Helping develop and follow security and engineering standards.
• Building tools and pipelines to facilitate CI/CD across environments.
• Automating code packaging, deployment and configuration management processes.
• Gathering feedback from delivery and operations teams to optimize throughput and quality.
• Tracking system and service performance and escalating issues as needed.
• Leveraging AI tools to assist in productivity, testing, and automation.
