Job summary

Cox Enterprises is seeking Software Development Interns to join our team and learn from experienced engineers. You’ll work on enterprise platforms, deployment pipelines, security and quality monitoring across public and private clouds.

You’ll develop tools to automate tasks, document procedures, and contribute to continuous integration and delivery. This internship emphasizes collaboration, mentorship, and real-world project impact.

Qualifications

• Currently a college student pursuing a BA/BS in computer science or related field.
• Passion for technology, reverse engineering and coding solutions.
• Collaborative, able to communicate well verbally and in writing.
• Experience with Windows and Linux systems, containers and databases.
• Experience with source code, build, deploy, orchestration and configuration management tools.
• Experience in writing code and scripts in at least one high-level language.
• Interest in automating repetitive tasks and improving efficiency via automation.
• Familiarity with AWS cloud architecture and Agile processes (Scrum/Kanban).
• Interest in building secure, scalable applications and measuring performance.
• Familiarity with AI tools that aid testing and automation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage automation for infrastructure provisioning and procedures across environments.
• Document new development, procedures or test plans as needed.
• Help develop and follow security and engineering standards.
• Build tools and pipelines to enable CI/CD for all environments.
• Automate packaging, deployment and configuration management processes.
• Gather feedback from delivery and operations teams to improve throughput and quality.
• Monitor system and service performance in all environments and escalate when needed.
• Leverage AI tools to assist in productivity, testing, and automation.
