Job summary

Cox Automotive invites motivated students for Software Development Internships. You’ll help build automation for infrastructure, write code, document processes and contribute to CI/CD pipelines. The program mentors you and exposes you to real-world projects across Cox Automotive brands.

You’ll gain experience with Windows and Linux, containers, cloud technologies, and Agile practices while collaborating with a team of engineers to deliver value in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Currently a college student pursuing a BA/BS degree in computer science or a related field.
• A passion for technology, reverse engineering and writing code to create solutions.
• Collaborative attitude and clear communication in group settings.
• Experience with Windows and Linux systems, containers and databases.
• Experience with source code, build, deploy, orchestration and configuration management tools.
• Experience in writing code and scripts in at least one high-level programming language.
• Desire to automate insufficiencies and manual activities.
• Familiarity with public cloud architecture, preferably AWS.
• Familiarity with Agile concepts (Scrum/Kanban).
• Interest in secure and resilient applications at scale.
• Interest in data gathering and measuring application performance.
• Familiarity with AI tools for productivity, testing and automation.

Responsibilities

• Developing automation for infrastructure provisioning and procedures, configuration management and ongoing support processes.
• Documenting new development, procedures or tests as needed.
• Help develop and follow best practices, security and engineering standards.
• Build tools and pipelines to facilitate CI/CD across all environments.
• Automating code packaging, deployment and configuration management across environments.
• Solicit feedback from delivery and operations teams to optimize throughput and quality.
• Track system and service performance and escalate as needed.
• Leverage AI tools to assist in productivity, testing and automation.
