Job summary

Markit North America, Inc. in Raleigh, NC seeks an Engineer II, Software Development to design and enhance database/back-end components and data feeds. The role involves building ETL workflows, optimizing SQL code, and migrating workloads to cloud data services, with a hybrid work model in Raleigh.

You will participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, perform peer code reviews, and deploy database/cloud workflows while ensuring security best practices and reliable data delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related IT field.
• 2+ years in software development with SQL/T-SQL and SQL Server.
• Experience with ETL/data pipelines and production troubleshooting.
• Experience with AWS data services and cloud data migrations.

Responsibilities

• Design and optimize database and cloud workflows across data pipelines.
• Develop/maintain ETL jobs and data processing for high-volume feeds.
• Perform root-cause analysis and implement fixes for data issues.
• Coordinate deployments and validate post-release outcomes.
• Ensure RBAC, encryption and network security in cloud/data platforms.
