Job summary

Markit North America, Inc. in Raleigh, NC is seeking an Engineer II, Software Development to design, develop, and enhance database/back-end components for an internal platform.

You will build ETL workflows, optimize data pipelines, and migrate workloads to cloud services while ensuring secure, scalable data delivery. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related IT field.
• Two years of experience in software development.
• Experience with SQL/T-SQL and Microsoft SQL Server for designing, optimizing, and supporting enterprise data-processing workloads.
• Experience with ETL/data pipeline development and production troubleshooting including job automation and root-cause analysis.
• Experience with AWS data pipeline services and Snowflake development/migration.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and Azure DevOps.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and enhance database/back-end components for an internal platform.
• Build/update ETL workflows and data pipelines; optimize data processing performance.
• Perform peer code reviews and prepare/execute production deployments/releases.
• Monitor/post-release validation and remediation; handle incidents for data delivery.
• Migrate database objects and processing logic to cloud data services; develop end-to-end data pipelines.
• Ensure RBAC, encryption, secrets management, and network security configurations.
