About the Role

The Systems Development Engineer (SDE) is responsible for developing, scaling, and maintaining cloud-based solutions using AWS and Azure technologies to support the JLL | Amazon account. This is a part-time (30 hours per week), fully remote position reporting directly to the Sr. Reliability Manager.

In this role, you will be responsible for scaling existing dashboard solutions to the Amazon AWS account, implementing automated data pipelines, developing secure data platforms for sensitive JLL information, and deploying AI agent workflows using Amazon Bedrock to streamline field operations and accountability tracking. The position requires a strong technical background in cloud infrastructure, programming, and data management.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Scale and optimize existing dashboard solutions deployed on Amazon AWS, ensuring performance, security, and reliability
  • Design and implement automated data pipelines to reduce manual dashboard maintenance and increase efficiency
  • Develop and maintain secure data platforms (AWS or Azure) for sensitive JLL information including HR, PXT/PXP, and safety data
  • Create AI agent workflows using Amazon Bedrock to automate field data processing and accountability tools
  • Implement Slack integrations for automated task tracking, coaching documentation, and field personnel notifications
  • Maintain AWS account infrastructure, ensuring proper security configurations, cost optimization, and future scalability
  • Design and deploy secure API integrations between various data sources and visualization platforms
  • Create technical documentation for all developed systems and processes
  • Troubleshoot complex technical issues and implement effective solutions
  • Collaborate with Business Analysts to understand business requirements and translate them into technical implementations
  • Stay current with emerging cloud technologies and best practices, recommending improvements when appropriate

Client Support

  • Adhere to business unit specified client-driven standards ensuring Customer Satisfaction
  • Support and drive technical consistency to help ensure adherence to account deliverables, maximize efficiency, and continually deliver exceptional client service
  • Quickly adapt and respond to changing client priorities as well as internal initiatives
  • Serve as a technical subject matter expert for cloud solutions and AI implementations

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related technical field (or equivalent practical experience)
  • 3+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure development (AWS preferred) or active Masters/PHD candidate with a Computer Engineering related discipline
  • Strong programming skills in Python, JavaScript, and similar languages
  • Experience with data pipeline development and database management
  • Familiarity with dashboard development tools and visualization techniques
  • Understanding of security best practices for cloud environments
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical thinking skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment
  • Self-motivated with excellent time management skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience with Amazon Web Services or Microsoft Azure
  • Experience with AI/ML development, particularly Amazon Bedrock
  • Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code practices (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.)
  • Familiarity with Slack API and bot development
  • Experience developing automated workflows and data processing systems
  • Prior work in graduate-level technical research or academic environments
  • AWS certifications (Developer, Solutions Architect, etc.)

Estimated total compensation for this position:

80,000.00 – 96,750.00 USD per year
