Job summary

Encore Technologies is seeking a knowledgeable ServiceNow ITAM Engineer to lead software asset lifecycle management within our Asset Management team. You will focus on normalization across installation and discovery models, and help implement a new software validation process to meet a compliance date.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure all new software adheres to defined standards while validating grandfathered software and maintaining accurate asset records.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in IT, business, or related field.
• Proven experience in IT software asset management.
• Strong experience with ServiceNow SAM.
• Proven ability to manage software normalization and entitlement processes.
• Familiarity with software discovery tools and data reconciliation practices.
• Experience with ITIL and software licensing models.

We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented ServiceNow ITAM (SAM) Engineer to join our Asset Management team with a focus on software asset lifecycle management practices. This role will be responsible for driving software normalization across installation and discovery models, and for supporting the development and implementation of a new software validation process. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring that all new software adheres to defined standards by a target compliance date, while managing the validation of grandfathered software.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement enterprise software normalization standards to improve data quality, automation, and compliance across the ServiceNow platform. Create and maintain normalized software publisher names, product names, and versions.
• Perform technical analysis of software discovery and reconciliation data to improve platform performance.
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive inventory of approved software within ServiceNow.
• Establish and maintain alignment between software models and discovery models to support compliance.

Software Entitlement Creation

• Design, implement, and optimize enterprise software entitlement models and lifecycle governance strategies. Ensure compliance with software licensing agreements and regulatory requirements.

Software Validation Process Management

• Collaborate on the design and rollout of a new software validation process, including timelines and exception handling.
• Identify and evaluate critical process touchpoints to determine opportunities for performance monitoring and quality assurance.

License Management:

• Analyze license utilization, develop optimization strategies, and recommend remediation actions to reduce organizational software licensing risk and cost. Develop workflows, automation, and integrations supporting software asset lifecycle management.

Security and Access Control:

• Assist in implementing access controls and security measures for digital assets to protect sensitive data and intellectual property.

Training and Support:

• Provide training and support to staff members involved in software asset management, helping them understand software asset management policies and procedures.
• Serve as the technical subject matter expert for ServiceNow SAM implementations and enhancements.

Compliance:

• Ensure that software asset management practices comply with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards including environmental and safety regulations.
• Maintain organized and accessible documentation related to software asset management processes, procedures, and policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience) is preferred.
• Proven experience in IT software asset management, including familiarity with software asset tracking software and procurement processes.
• Strong experience with ServiceNow Software Asset Management (SAM).
• Proven ability to manage software normalization and entitlement processes.
• Familiarity with software discovery tools and data reconciliation practices.
• Experience designing and implementing software validation or compliance processes
• Familiarity with ITIL and software licensing models.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
• Strong communication skills for collaboration with internal teams and external vendors.
• Experience with IT compliance standards and regulations, including software licensing requirements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
