1X is building humanoid robots designed for home use, shipping real products to families. As a Product Design Engineer on the Softgoods team, you will own textiles, foams and elastomers from concept through prototyping to mass production, partnering with industrial designers, materials scientists and manufacturing engineers.

You will drive manufacturability, cost targets and safety validation, delivering premium touchpoints that scale to millions of units while maintaining quality and schedule

Qualifications

• Experience in textiles, foams, elastomers and softgoods design.
• Portfolio showcasing professional and passion projects.
• Education aligned to engineering with practical experience.

Responsabilités

• Own the full lifecycle of softgoods components from concept to mass production.
• Deliver a soft-touch experience with defined feel and finish standards.
• Ensure safety and durability, and own qualification and testing.
• Drive manufacturability and cost targets across production.
• Qualify materials and partners for new softgoods solutions.
