1X is building humanoid robots designed for home use. As a Product Design Engineer on the Softgoods team, you will craft textiles, foams, and elastomers that turn NEO into a welcoming family member, guiding parts from sketch to scalable production with a strong focus on safety and quality.

You will collaborate with designers, materials scientists, and manufacturing engineers to deliver premium touch and durable performance, while driving manufacturability and cost targets across production runs.

Qualifications

• Portfolio showcasing your professional work, personal projects, and passion projects.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience: 5–10 years (open to outstanding candidates)

Responsabilités

• Own the full lifecycle of NEO's softgoods components from concept to mass production.
• Deliver a soft-touch, welcoming tactile experience at scale.
• Collaborate with industrial designers, materials scientists, and manufacturing engineers.
• Drive design-for-manufacturing and cost targets, improving first-pass yield.
• Qualify materials and manufacturing partners for production-ready solutions.
