Job summary

County College of Morris (CCM) is seeking an Assistant Coach, Softball - Tier 2 to support the Head Coach in all aspects of team preparation, practice organization, and game-day operations. The role involves coordinating pre-season training, supervising players, and contributing to evaluation and post-season planning.

This is a part-time position with weekend and some overnight commitments, including possible national tournaments.

Qualifications

High school diploma required.
Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Experience with competitive playing or coaching experience, college-level preferred.
Prefer coaching experience at the high school level or above.
Entry-level understanding of modern coaching methods.
Defensive driving course and 15-passenger van safety course required upon acceptance of position.
Must be able to operate a 15-passenger van for away contests and in some cases home contests off-site.
DMV and criminal history background check required.
Must hold current AED and CPR certification.

Responsibilities

Assist in organizing aspects of team practice and play, including pre-season, seasonal, and post-season practices and competition.
Represent program and department by attending CCM Open Houses, coaches' meetings, and department functions as assigned by Athletic Director.
Must be prepared to participate in weekends and occasional overnight games and possible National Tournaments.
Serve as one of the college's Campus Security Authorities, responsible for reporting to Public Safety any activities that may be considered criminal incidences.
Other duties as specified by Athletic Director.
