Job summary

County College of Morris is hiring an Assistant Coach to support the Head Coach in team preparation, training, and competition. The role emphasizes organization of practice sessions, game-day planning, and ongoing evaluation of players.

This seasonal position requires weekend and occasional overnight travel, adherence to safety and campus security duties, and collaboration with the Athletic Director to ensure high standards of conduct and performance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Experience with competitive playing or coaching experience, college-level preferred.
• Possession of coaching experience at the high school level or above.
• Must hold current AED and CPR certification.
• DMV and criminal history background check required.
• Must be in good standing according to the Morris County Risk Management Department.

Responsibilities

• Represent program and department by attending CCM Open Houses, coaches’ meetings, and department functions as assigned by Athletic Director.
• Must be prepared to participate in weekends and occasional overnight games and possible National Tournaments.
• Serve as one of the college’s Campus Security Authorities, responsible for reporting to Public Safety any activities that may be considered criminal incidences.
• Other duties as specified by Athletic Director.

Defensive driving course and 15-passenger van safety course required upon acceptance of position. Must be able to operate a 15-passenger van for away contests and in some cases home contests off-site.

Work Hours

Position obligation expected to occur between February 1st – May 15th.

Non-traditional season obligation is September 1st – October 15th.
