Valor Healthcare, Inc. seeks a Mental Health Counselor to assist with management and treatment of client behavioral health activities for SOF personnel at Hurlburt – Duke Field, FL.

Counselors work under the authority of a licensed provider, not as independent licensed clinicians. Valor emphasizes veteran- and physician-led care, focusing on high-quality outcomes and respectful treatment of military personnel and government service members.

Competenze

• Possess an associate degree or commensurate level of training, e.g. military mental health technician, for a psychiatric technician or mental health program assistant.
• Education requirement may be met by military or comparable training, if military trained the individual’s specialty must be as a mental health technician/specialist.
• Trained to intervene and, when required, to restrain violent or potentially violent or suicidal clients by verbal or physical means.
• Minimum of three (3) years’ experience as a mental health technician.

• Under the supervision of a credentialed provider, conduct intakes and assist with care and treatment of psychiatric, drug and alcohol clients.
• Under the supervision of a licensed psychiatrist, social worker, psychiatric nurse or psychologist, provide a wide range of behavioral health interventions from mitigation to treatment.
• Observe clients to detect behavior patterns and report observations to licensed behavioral health staff.
• Leads prescribed individual or group therapy sessions as part of specific therapeutic procedures under guidance of licensed professionals.
• Conduct Intake interviews under supervision of a licensed mental health professional.
• Administer psychological tests and prepare reports under supervision.
• Populate and maintain a computerized database for units and monthly training statistics.
• Prepare daily correspondence and maintain attendance rosters and statistics.
• Assist with or independently gather data for presentations and process improvements.
