Qualifications

• Associate degree or commensurate level of training (military mental health technician allowed).
• Minimum of three (3) years’ experience as a mental health technician.
• Trained to intervene and, when required, to restrain violent, potentially violent, or suicidal clients (training may occur after hire).

Responsibilities

• Under supervision of a credentialed provider, conduct intakes and assist with care and treatment of psychiatric, drug, and alcohol clients.
• Counsel clients with personal, behavioral, or psychological problems.
• Observe clients to detect behavior patterns and report observations to licensed staff.
• Lead prescribed individual or group therapy sessions under supervision of a licensed mental health professional.
• Prepare daily correspondence and maintain attendance rosters and statistical data.
• Collect and maintain monthly statistical data for active-duty personnel attending services.
