Qualifications

• Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from CSWE-accredited program.
• Independent LCSW license or state equivalent with full, active status.
• Knowledge of professional standards and ethics in clinical social work.
• Experience with brief behavioral interventions.
• Minimum of two years peer-reviewable clinical social work experience in mental health; government setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee suicide prevention programming, reporting, and initiatives for active-duty SOF members.
• Attend meetings during duty hours and participate in professional activities and required briefings.
• Apply social work procedures including interviewing, assessment, and evidence-based therapies.
• Consult with medical personnel, legal authorities, and military commanders as needed.
• Provide clinical supervision of unlicensed providers or trainees.
• Integrate suicide prevention practices into training, family programs, and other activities.
• Monitor SOCOM SP Directive compliance and report timely to HQ POTFF and services.
• Support development of component policies and procedures for suicide prevention.
