Job summary

TalentBurst is seeking an MSW for an onsite hospital social work role at the Laguna Facility. Start ASAP for a 13-week contract with a 20-23 patient caseload in an acute care setting. The role requires an MSW and recent hospital experience; LCSW and BLS are preferred.

Travel is required; work is 8 hours/day, 5 days/week with variable weekend coverage. Position starts 11/02/2026; 13-week assignment with on-site duties in Mission Viejo, CA.

Qualifications

• MSW required with recent hospital experience within the last 3 months.
• Must have acute care hospital experience.
• Experience with case management and utilization review.
• Familiarity with Epic charting system.
• BLS certification preferred.
• Trauma experience preferred.
• Willingness to travel (Yes).

Responsibilities

• Perform biopsychosocial assessments and develop care plans.
• Coordinate discharge planning and post-acute services.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to ensure patient care.
• Document care plans and criteria per coverage.
• Navigate Department of Children and Families processes where applicable.

First Time Traveler: HARDSTOP NO 1ST TIME TRAVELER
Ratios: Caseload of 20-23 patients
Years of experience 1 full year of acute care experience is required redirect if they do not have.
Weekend REQ: variable 5-day workweek with department operations occurring 7 days per week. Days off will vary and are not guaranteed to be back-to-back, although every effort will be made to schedule consecutive days off when possible
CA state license: No
RTO Restrictions: No more than 7 days
