Job summary

Boston Public Schools seeks an exceptional Elementary and Special Education teacher with an SEI endorsement to join our community of learners. This 0.5 FTE long-term substitute for the 26-27 school year focuses on inclusive classrooms for grade 1, serving students with moderate disabilities.

The role emphasizes collaboration, progress reporting, and alignment with district and state standards to support achievement for all students.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required for teaching licensure.
Massachusetts Elementary 1-6 and Moderate Disabilities PK-8 licensure required.
SEI Endorsement or ESL license required for grade level.
Fully licensed or eligible to become Highly Qualified.

Responsibilities

Teach Elementary General Curriculum in an inclusive setting with Special Needs students and English Learners.
Implement district goals aligned with state frameworks; identify access points for portfolio development.
Provide small-group instruction for students with moderate to severe cognitive delays.
Write IEP goals/Objectives and report progress regularly to families and administrators.
Provide needed accommodations; develop curriculum and prepare for MCAS Alternative Assessments.
Collaborate with staff to support modifications and shared planning.
