Bard High School Early College Baltimore invites applications for a full-time Social Sciences teacher starting August 2026. The successful candidate will plan and implement an instructional program in General Social Studies, teach courses in our high school program, Seminar sequence in the college program, and contribute to student advising and school life.

Qualifications

• A Master's degree is required.
• A dedication to teaching is required.
• An interest in working with high school age students who are also completing a college-level course of study.
• A strong commitment to equity and social justice.
• A strong commitment to opening up opportunities in education for underrepresented students.
• Candidates who will have a Ph.D. at the time of employment, or who are ABD, with high school and/or college teaching experience are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement an instructional program in General Social Studies and provide related educational services for students.
• Manage student behavior, assess and evaluate student achievement, and modify instructional activities as required.
• Teach courses in our high school program, Seminar sequence courses in our college program, and electives in the area of expertise.
• Participate actively in the life of the school, advising students, serving on committees, or sponsoring extracurricular activities.
