Bard High School Early College Baltimore invites applications for a full-time English Literature position starting August 2026. The successful candidate will teach American or World Literature in the high school program, plus Seminar sequence courses in the college program, and electives in their area of expertise.

All BHSEC Baltimore faculty participate in student advising, committees, or sponsoring extracurricular activities. A Masters degree is required, Ph.D.

Qualifications

• Master's degree is required.
• Commitment to equity and social justice.
• Experience teaching high school and/or college courses.
• Interest in working with high school students who are also completing a college-level course of study.

Responsibilities

• Teach American or World Literature in the high school program, Seminar sequence courses in the college program, and electives in their area of expertise.
• Participate actively in school life: advising students, serving on committees, and sponsoring extracurricular activities.
