Job summary

Palm Beach State College is seeking a Social Services Coordinator to support department operations and college-wide food pantry activities. You will manage inventory, partner with community organizations, and assist with counseling referrals while working evenings and weekends as needed.

This grant-funded position requires an associate degree with one year of related experience; fluency with Microsoft Office and EMR systems is preferred.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Conduct student intakes and triage crises, scheduling counseling and case management.
  • Organize outreach events and develop marketing materials.
  • Coordinate community resources and prepare program correspondences.

About this role

Responsible for assisting in operational and organizational duties supporting the department to include collegewide food pantry operations. Coordinates delivery, organization, and distribution of supplies. Will assist with developing community-based partnerships to increase engagement with programs. Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and possibly during college closings. This is a grant funded position. Continued employment is contingent upon grant funding.

What a day of a Social Services Coordinator looks like
  • Maintains pantry inventory, tracks donations, and promotes food pantry via marketing campaigns.
  • Ensures all standards for food handling, storage, set up, and distribution are followed.
  • Schedules inspections and maintains any licensing and certifications necessary for efficient operations.
  • Conducts student intakes, triages students in crisis, and schedules ongoing counseling, medical, and case management appointments.
  • Participates in and facilitates educational and outreach events for the department.
  • Produces, orders, and organizes marketing, educational, and other materials related to pantry and other department services.
  • Responds for requests for linkage to community resources as well as differing college resources.
  • Prepares correspondences, reports, and other administrative duties to support projects and the department.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

  • Identifying, analyzing, and resolving problems, driving solutions through to completion
  • Working with diverse populations who may be experiencing mental health challenges, housing and food insecurities, and additional psycho-social stressors
  • Ability to: Effectively communicate verbally and in writing on a regular basis with internal and external customers, build relationships, manage customer expectations, and take responsibility for a high level of service
  • Interact in a positive manner with diverse populations and varying education levels of students, faculty, staff, and the public
  • Organize and prioritize multiple, competing priorities to maximize personal and team effectiveness
  • Work on multiple campus locations
  • Licenses, Registration, Certifications, or Special Requirements: Valid Florida driver’s license
  • Regular physical attendance required
  • Preferred, but not a must: Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in human services, social work, or any other mental health related field
  • Knowledge of: Titanium electronic medical records (EMR) software
  • Skilled in: Research and data analysis to arrive at valid conclusions, recommendations, and plans of action
  • Ability to: Speak publicly Coordinate outreach events

This is a grant-funded position with a fixed salary range. The minimum hourly base pay is $21.44, with the final salary offer contingent on the candidate’s education and experience, and the availability of grant funds. This position is open until filled with an initial review date of September 9, 2026.
