Job summary

Louisiana Department of Health is seeking a Social Services Analyst 1–3 to interpret complex federal, state, and local regulations while guiding clients through program requirements and resources. You’ll conduct in-depth client interviews to assess work history, education, abilities, and goals, then document findings and coordinate services to support participation.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience in social services; OR six years of full-time experience in any field; OR a bachelor's degree.
• Experience substitution: Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Responsibilities

• Determine Eligibility for Economic Stability Programs by gathering, analyzing, and documenting client information; interpret and apply complex laws and agency policies while maintaining a reduced caseload.
• Provide Quality Customer Service and Program Guidance by assessing customer needs, explaining program rules, and delivering services respectfully and without bias.
• Manage and Document Caseloads by completing required forms, recording findings, and monitoring case development for accuracy and timeliness.
• Serve as Lead Analyst and Mentor by training and supporting new staff; interpret program policies and assist with performance development.
• Support Supervisory and Operational Functions by assisting in evaluating processes, completing reports, and reassigning caseloads as needed.
• Ensure Quality Control and Compliance by reviewing samples for accuracy and developing corrective procedures.
• Provide Training, Representation, and Community Engagement by conducting policy training and representing the agency in community forums.
