Job summary

Placements24 in Welkom, Free State, seeks an experienced Social Impact Manager to strategize, implement, and evaluate programs that alleviate poverty through sustainable initiatives. This leadership role oversees multiple projects, builds partnerships, and measures impact in a hybrid on-site environment.

You will lead a team of program officers, manage budgets, and report on outcomes while aligning activities with the organization's mission.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Development Studies, Social Sciences, Public Administration, or related field.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in program management, social impact assessment, or non-profit leadership.
• Proven track record of designing and managing development projects.
• Strong analytical skills with experience in M&E frameworks and data analysis.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship-building abilities.
• Demonstrated experience in managing budgets and resources effectively.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience working within the Free State or similar socio-economic contexts is highly desirable.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid work environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee the implementation of the organization's social impact strategy.
• Design and manage projects focused on community upliftment and economic empowerment.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with community stakeholders, government bodies, and partner organizations.
• Develop and implement robust monitoring and evaluation frameworks to measure program impact.
• Analyze data and generate reports on project progress, outcomes, and learnings.
• Identify opportunities for program expansion and innovation.
• Manage budgets and resources allocated to social impact initiatives.
• Lead and mentor a team of program officers and field staff.
• Represent the organization in relevant forums and networks.
• Ensure alignment of all social impact activities with the organization's mission and values.
