Job summary

Soccer Stars is seeking an experienced soccer professional to lead coach development across Long Island and Eastern Queens. You will observe, mentor, and train coaches to deliver engaging, age-appropriate sessions and ensure high-quality program delivery.

The role emphasizes leadership, feedback, and curriculum alignment, with travel to multiple locations and an ongoing commitment to coaching excellence.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of soccer through playing, coaching, officiating, or other competitive experience.
• Experience coaching, teaching, mentoring, or leading youth programs preferred.
• Soccer playing experience at youth, high school, collegiate, or professional level valued but not required.
• Ability to recognize strong coaching and help others improve.

Responsibilities

• Lead soccer-specific training sessions for new and existing coaches.
• Observe coaches during classes and provide constructive feedback.
• Evaluate coaches on communication, class management, player engagement, enthusiasm, professionalism, and soccer instruction.
• Mentor coaches in the field and serve as a resource for curriculum and coaching best practices.
• Demonstrate best practices by coaching classes regularly and using sessions as training opportunities.
• Manage age-specific curriculum understanding and coaching philosophy with staff.
• Support development plans for coaches needing guidance.
• Identify high-performing coaches and support their growth.
• Fill coaching vacancies to ensure consistent program delivery.
• Visit classes, camps, and clinics to ensure high-quality sessions.
• Ensure sessions are fun, developmentally appropriate, and aligned with Soccer Stars methodology.
• Maintain coaching standards across programs and address feedback professionally.
• Represent Soccer Stars with a positive, energetic presence at every location.
