Job summary

Core Scientific, located in Austin, TX, seeks a Security Operations Specialist to join the on-site Security Operations Center. You will monitor access and video systems, manage alarms, and coordinate incident responses during high-tempo events.

The role requires strong communication, calmness under pressure, and precise documentation. You will work 12-hour rotating shifts, including nights and weekends, in a data center environment with frontline incident handling.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s preferred.
• 1+ year in SOC/GSOC or related ops role.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Ability to multitask during high-tempo operational events.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and web-based systems.
• Calm, professional demeanor during emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Monitor access control systems, video management systems, alarms, and monitoring platforms.
• Identify anomalous activity, security concerns, and operational risks.
• Maintain situational awareness across facilities and ongoing events.
• Serve as first point of contact for security incidents.
• Perform initial incident triage and coordinate escalation.
• Create detailed incident reports, logs, and after-action documentation.
• Communicate clearly during routine operations and emergencies.
• Process cardholder access requests and credentialing.
