Job summary

System One is seeking a SOC Operations Analyst Mid in Huntsville, AL to monitor networks, investigate incidents, and support real-time cyber defense tasks. This is a direct-hire, onsite role requiring Top Secret clearance with CI Poly and a BS/BA.

You will work with Splunk ES, penetration testing, and security improvements, with opportunities for GIAC and Sentinel certifications; 40-hour weeks.

Qualifications

• Top Secret clearance with CI Poly required.
• Bachelor's degree (BS or BA) required.
• 5+ years of overall experience, including Splunk Enterprise Security.
• Preferred: Microsoft Sentinel and GIAC certifications.

Responsibilities

• Monitor computer networks for security issues and incidents.
• Investigate security breaches and cybersecurity incidents, documenting breaches and assessing damage.
• Perform tests with the security team to uncover network vulnerabilities, such as penetration testing.
• Fix detected vulnerabilities to maintain high security standards.
• Recommend best practices for IT security and install security measures, including firewalls and data encryption programs.
• Conduct forensic analysis by creating sound duplicates of files, decrypt data, and provide technical summaries and input.
• Examine recovered data for relevant information and perform dynamic analysis including timeline, statistical, and file signature analysis.
• Support real-time cyber defense tasks to assist deployable Incident Response Teams (IRTs).
