Job summary

System One is seeking an SOC Operations Analyst for an onsite role in Huntsville, Virginia. You will monitor networks, investigate security incidents, and support incident response teams while collaborating with the security group to identify vulnerabilities and implement defenses.

The position requires a Top Secret clearance with CI Poly, a BS/BA, and hands-on experience with Splunk Enterprise Security and GIAC certifications.

Qualifications

• Top Secret clearance with CI Polygraph.
• Bachelor’s degree (BS or BA) required.
• At least 1 year of overall experience, including experience with Splunk Enterprise Security.

Responsibilities

• Monitor computer networks for security issues and investigate security breaches and cybersecurity incidents.
• Document security breaches and assess the damage caused.
• Collaborate with the security team to perform tests and identify network vulnerabilities, including penetration testing.
• Fix detected vulnerabilities to maintain high-security standards.
• Recommend best practices for IT security and install security measures such as firewalls and data encryption programs.
• Conduct analysis, confirm intrusion information, and create forensically sound duplicates of files.
• Decrypt data and provide technical summaries and input.
• Examine recovered data for relevant information and perform dynamic analysis, including timeline, statistical, and file signature analysis.
• Support real-time cyber defense tasks to assist deployable Incident Response Teams (IRTs).

• Experience with or certifications in tools such as Microsoft Sentinel (P), GIAC Continuous Monitoring Certification (GMON), GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH), GIAC Certified Forensic Analyst (GCFA), GIAC Certified Intrusion Analyst (GCIA), GIAC Network Forensic Analyst (GNFA)
