Job summary

System One is seeking an SOC Operations Analyst in Virginia to monitor networks, investigate breaches, and work with the security team on vulnerability testing. The role requires a Top Secret clearance with CI Polygraph eligibility and at least 1 year of related experience.

The position is direct hire, onsite, with 40 hours per week and a comprehensive benefits package including health/dental/vision, 401(k), and life insurance. CI Polygraph eligibility is a must for consideration.

Qualifications

• Top Secret clearance with CI Polygraph eligibility.
• Bachelor's degree required.
• 1+ year of relevant security monitoring/incident response experience.
• Experience with Splunk ES and/or SIEM tools or listed certifications.

Responsibilities

• Monitor networks for security issues and investigate breaches/incidents.
• Document breaches and assess damage.
• Collaborate with security team to perform tests and identify vulnerabilities.
• Fix detected vulnerabilities to maintain high-security standards.
• Recommend security best practices and install security measures like firewalls and encryption.
• Conduct analysis, confirm intrusion info, and create forensically sound file duplicates.
• Decrypt data and provide technical summaries.
• Examine recovered data; perform timeline, statistics, and file-signature analysis.
• Support real-time cyber defense tasks for deployable IRTs.

Security Clearance: Top Secret with the ability to sit for the CI Poly

Responsibilities

• Monitor computer networks for security issues and investigate security breaches and cybersecurity incidents.
• Document security breaches and assess the damage caused.
• Collaborate with the security team to perform tests and identify network vulnerabilities, including penetration testing.
• Fix detected vulnerabilities to maintain high-security standards.
• Recommend best practices for IT security and install security measures such as firewalls and data encryption programs.
• Conduct analysis, confirm intrusion information, and create forensically sound duplicates of files.
• Decrypt data and provide technical summaries and input.
• Examine recovered data for relevant information and perform dynamic analysis, including timeline, statistical, and file signature analysis.
• Support real-time cyber defense tasks to assist deployable Incident Response Teams (IRTs).

Requirements

• Top Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain a CI Polygraph
• Bachelor’s degree (BS or BA)
• At least 1 year of overall experience, including experience with Splunk Enterprise Security (R)
• Experience with or certifications in tools such as Microsoft Sentinel (P), GIAC Continuous Monitoring Certification (GMON), GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH), GIAC Certified Forensic Analyst (GCFA), GIAC Certified Intrusion Analyst (GCIA), GIAC Network Forensic Analyst (GNFA)
