Job summary

Samsung Research America seeks a SOC Architect for Fabric, System Cache and DRAM controller sub-systems to shape next-generation SoCs. This hands-on role leads individuals and teams through architectural and microarchitectural decisions with emphasis on power, performance, and integration across SOCs.

You will model, propose, and refine architecture, working with SW/HW teams, and drive cross-functional collaboration to deliver impactful features and optimizations for Galaxy-class devices.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in SOC or ASIC design and architecture.
• Understanding of memory controller architecture, memory scheduling, prioritization and QoS.
• Detailed knowledge of ARM bus infrastructure (ACE/AXI/AHB).
• Familiarity with JEDEC standards (LPDDR, DDR, or HBM).
• Background in memory systems and computer architecture and tradeoffs.

Responsibilities

• Guide development of Fabric, System cache and DRAM controller features to boost power and performance.
• Deliver architecture proposals for Fabric, System cache and DRAM controller subsystems.
• Evaluate benefits with SoC Architects and communicate results to SW/HW/Leadership.
• Perform high-level performance modeling/simulation and analysis of features and workloads.
• Direct studies to support inclusion of features in the microarchitecture based on performance, area or power.
• Deliver architecture/microarchitecture proposals and specifications to the design team and leadership.
• Collaborate with silicon bring-up and product teams to verify delivered performance.
• Collaborate across teams to realize proposals across SOC, Driver, OS, System.
