Job summary

Samsung Research America is seeking a senior SOC Architect with a focus on Fabric, System Cache and DRAM controller sub-systems. You will lead architectural decisions, perform high-level performance modeling, and coordinate with SW/HW teams to optimize power and performance in next-generation SoCs.

Responsibilities include proposing architectures, driving microarchitectural tradeoffs, collaborating across silicon bring-up, and delivering clear specifications for the design team.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in SOC or ASIC design and architecture.
• Direct experience (>5 years) in Fabric, System Cache, DRAM controller Architecture or microarchitecture.
• Understanding of memory controller architecture, memory scheduling, prioritization and QoS.
• Knowledge of ARM bus infrastructure (ACE/AXI/AHB).
• Knowledge of JEDEC standards such as LPDDR, DDR, or HBM.
• Background in memory systems and SoC architecture to understand tradeoffs among bandwidth, latency, performance and power.

Responsibilities

• Guide development of Fabric, System cache and DRAM controller features to boost power and performance on targeted workloads in next generation SoCs
• Identify and deliver architecture proposals for products in new and existing markets
• Evaluate architecture proposal benefits with a team of SoC Architects and communicate results across SW/HW/Leadership
• Perform high-level performance modeling/simulation and analysis of Fabric, System cache and DRAM controller features and workloads
• Direct and orchestrate performance modeling to support inclusion in the next-gen microarchitecture
• Deliver architecture proposals and specifications to the design team and articulate to hardware/software audiences and leadership
• Collaborate with silicon bring-up and product teams to verify performance
• Coordinate across SOC, Driver, OS, and System teams with detailed documentation
