Job summary

Aspen Skiing Company is seeking a Snowmaker to ensure high-quality snow conditions across our resorts. The role supports day-to-day operations and works as part of a team to establish and maintain adequate snow coverage until conditions no longer require snowmaking efforts. Reports to the Snowmaking Manager.

Eligibility includes the ability to pass required safety tests and the Colorado snowmobile test. This is a seasonal full-time position with benefits and a competitive wage in the Aspen area.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Must pass ASC and Colorado snowmobile test
• Ability to communicate in English and follow directions

Responsibilities

• Operate snowmaking equipment (guns, hoses, hydrants) per safety standards
• Transport snowmaking gear and drive vehicles on variable terrain
• Develop understanding of mountain layout and snowmobile routes
• Monitor snow quality and adjust as needed
• Recognize and communicate hazards in the snowmaking system
• Assist in maintenance and repair of snowmaking guns and snowmobiles
• Perform other duties as assigned

Essential Job Functions

• Operation of various snowmaking equipment includingshovels,guns, hoses, hydrants, etc. according to ASCservice andsafety standards
• Transportation of snowmaking equipment,includingdrivingvehicles including trucks, 4-wheelers, side‑by‑sidesandsnowmobiles onvariableterrain
• Developanunderstanding ofmountain layout and snowmobile routes
• Monitorquality of snowandmake adjustmentsas needed
• Recognize and communicate hazards within the snowmaking system
• Assist in maintenance and repair ofsnowmakingguns and snowmobiles
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education & Experience Requirements

• Must be 18 years or older
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Must pass ASC and Colorado snowmobiletest

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Ability to communicate, follow oral and written directions in English
• Ability to ski or ride at an intermediate levelpreferred
• Ability to work in collaboration with others to achieve team goals
• Ability to remain focused, organized, flexible, and detail-oriented
• Follows all safety policies and procedures and exercises caution when working

Workenvironment and physical demands

• Ability toreach, crouch, kneel,stand, bendorbe on your feetfor extended periods of time
• Regularly work in wet, cold, hot conditions requiring the use of protective apparel/equipment to prevent exposure to the elementsand may be required to walk on slippery and uneven surfaces
• Must be able tofrequencylift, push or pullup to50 lbs. individually or with assistance
