Job summary

Vail Resorts is seeking a Snowmaker for the winter season to support mountain operations. You will operate snowmaking equipment and snowmobiles, perform basic maintenance, and help create the best skiing surface for our guests.

Starting wage ranges from $20.00/hr to $23.00/hr, with housing available. Employment is winter seasonal 2026/2027, with full-time hours and the potential for ongoing training and development. Benefits include passes, discounts, and wellness programs.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older and able to communicate in English.
• Valid driver's license with no restrictions.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors in alpine conditions.
• Basic hand tool knowledge and safe equipment operation.
• Full-time winter seasonal role with variable hours.

Responsibilities

• Operate snowmaking equipment safely and efficiently.
• Operate snowmobiles and other vehicles safely.
• Perform basic maintenance on snowmaking gear.
• Contribute to producing snow to create ideal skiing surfaces.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

As a Snowmaker, you will brave the elements and help build out the mountain for the skiing guest. Snowmaking is a physically demanding and exciting job. Work with some of the most fascinating equipment on the mountain and make it snow!

Job Responsibilities

• Operate all snowmaking equipment in a safe and efficient manner
• Operate all vehicles, including snowmobiles, in a safe and efficient manner
• Perform basic snowmaking equipment maintenance
• Work on the production of snow to create the best skiing surface for our guests

The expected pay range is $20.00/hr - $23.00/hr. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
