Job summary

The City and County of San Francisco, Controller’s Office, Systems Division seeks a Data Analytics Engineer to support the BI Platform Change project. You will develop reports, dashboards, data models, and ETL solutions for Oracle BI, with Snowflake as the target data warehouse.

You will collaborate with SF Reports & Analytics, functional teams and other City staff to analyze business processes and data needs, implement dbt-based transformations, and ensure data governance and security

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent in computer science, information systems, or related field.
• 1 year of experience analyzing, installing, configuring, enhancing, or maintaining systems.
• Substitution options available for degree requirement with experience or trainee program.
• Extensive knowledge of OBIEE/OAS, ODI, BI Publisher, SQL, and data warehousing.
• Experience in RPD development, dashboards, performance tuning, and security implementation.
• Experience with Snowflake and cloud data platforms, dbt, and data pipelines.
• Strong SQL skills, data modeling, and ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Familiarity with data governance, security, and privacy principles.

Responsibilities

• Analyze interrelationships of business processes and data to define reporting needs.
• Perform fit/gap analyses for reporting and data requirements.
• Develop and maintain OBIEE/OAS dashboards and BI Publisher reports.
• Design and enhance RPDs (Physical, BMM, Presentation).
• Support subject areas and metadata models; develop ETL solutions with ODI.
• Write technical documentation and manage risks across the SDLC.
