Job summary

City and County of San Francisco’s Controller’s Office, Systems Division, seeks a Senior Technology Engineer to lead a Snowflake-based BI platform migration. You will analyze data, design data structures, develop reports and dashboards, and collaborate across city departments to improve governance and transparency.

The role emphasizes technical design, security, and documentation, with engagement across functional teams and city staff to deliver secure, scalable analytics solutions.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of experience analyzing, installing, configuring, enhancing, and/or maintaining the components of a system or platform.
• One year of experience administering and developing on Snowflake managed cloud data platform and with Oracle databases
• Two (2) years of experience writing advanced SQL and using dbt for data transformation and modeling
• Experience with data governance, data security, and data privacy principles
• Understanding of PeopleSoft applications such as FSCM or HCM and related data analysis and testing
• Knowledge of modern ETL principles and data warehouse concepts

Responsibilities

• Analyze business processes and data to develop reporting requirements and data structures.
• Perform fit/gap analysis to evaluate reporting and data needs.
• Define and implement application configuration settings.
• Design and build solutions based on detailed specifications.
• Develop and execute system and user acceptance test plans.
