Job summary

Burton is seeking a Prototype Shop Technician to join our Advanced Concept and Development Center. You will perform prototyping duties, integrating manufacturing, and technology to deliver snowboard prototypes, equipment operation, and process development for innovative manufacturing.

The role emphasizes hands-on skills in wood and metalworking, layout, and problem-solving with a focus on design-for-manufacturing and continuous improvement within a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Proven hands-on experience in manufacturing, materials, or product construction—ideally within the snowboard or hardgoods space.
• Keen eye for quality, efficiency and attention to detail.
• Ability to tackle problems using a logical, systematic approach.
• Ability to develop or sponsor new methods, products, or technologies to meet customer needs.

Responsibilities

• Perform physical labor to create snowboard prototypes, including lay-up, grinding, finishing, and procurement.
• Run and maintain equipment such as routers, shapers, sanders, and grinders.
• Contribute to efficiency and innovation by sharing new ideas and manufacturing experience.
• Participate in design-for-manufacturing processes and implement new ideas.
