Job summary

Capgemini Invent in Boulder, CO seeks an on-site Product Prototype Developer for a fixed-term contract to lead hands-on prototyping of softgoods and related components. You will work closely with design and engineering teams to turn concepts into production-representative samples while shaping tooling and processes for small batch quantities.

The role requires strong hands-on fabrication skills, 3D CAD proficiency, and a deep understanding of product development from concept to manufacturing.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Design.
• 3+ years hands-on fabrication or prototyping experience.
• Knowledge of the product development process (research, ideation, prototyping, analysis, engineering, manufacturing).
• Comfort with hands-on fabrication and operating specialized equipment (sewing, cutting).
• Manufacturing processes and design constraints (injection molding, machining, softgoods).
• Ability to read technical drawings and documentation, including GD&T.

Responsibilities

• Design, prototyping, analysis, and 3D CAD modeling.
• Help develop tooling and fixture concepts for softgoods components.
• Engineer and hand-fabricate proof-of-concept prototypes.
• Prepare cut/print files and operate softgoods machinery.
• Support tooling design and part/assembly CAD as needed.
