Job summary

Rancho Seco Care Center in California seeks an experienced Director of Maintenance to lead the facility's maintenance, Life Safety, and physical plant operations. The ideal candidate has prior SNF or long-term care experience and a strong understanding of Life Safety Code requirements and regulatory compliance.

This hands‑on, proactive leader will ensure survey readiness, maintain documentation, and manage fire/life‑safety systems.

Qualifications

• Experience leading maintenance in Skilled Nursing or long‑term care facilities.
• Strong knowledge of Life Safety Code, NFPA, fire safety, emergency preparedness.
• Experience with CMS/CDPH surveys and survey readiness.
• Ability to maintain organized, survey‑ready documentation.
• Proactive problem solving and strong communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and coordinate with vendors.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day maintenance and physical plant operations.
• Ensure facility compliance with CMS, CDPH, NFPA, OSHA and life safety requirements.
• Maintain survey readiness and address deficiencies promptly.
• Maintain life safety & maintenance documentation, logs, and records.
• Oversee inspection, testing, and maintenance of fire/life‑safety systems.
• Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal departments to complete repairs.
