Job summary

Celestica Maple Grove, MN, is seeking a Machine Operator 2 for SMT operations and rework. You will maintain solder paste stencils, load components, verify positioning, follow process docs, and perform hand soldering and light inspection to ensure solder joints meet print and routing specs.

Experience with SMT equipment, blueprint reading, and J‑STD/IPC‑610 Certification is preferred. The role requires standing, exposure to chemicals, and adherence to safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• High School education or equivalent required.
• One year manufacturing experience preferred.
• Must pass J‑STD & IPC‑610 Certification to perform duties.
• Fluency reading blueprints is required.

Responsibilities

• Maintains and aligns solder paste stencils to ensure even screen prints.
• Replenishes SMT components, verifies positioning, values, and polarity.
• Follow engineering documentation to process lead or lead‑free solder assemblies.
• Monitor floor stock inventory and advise when low or expired.
• Perform periodic PMs and assist in equipment maintenance.
• Learn machine parameters and programs for optimal throughput.
• Carry out hand soldering and inspection with a scope as needed.
• Perform X‑Ray inspection to verify product quality.
• Train other employees and assist in orientation when needed.
