Job summary

Celestica in Maple Grove, MN is seeking a Machine Operator 2 to set up and operate SMT equipment, inspect products to IPC-A-610 Class 3, and follow process documents. You will work with engineers to prepare NPI products and may perform occasional hand soldering and X-Ray inspection to verify joints.

Required is High School or equivalent with manufacturing exposure and the ability to read blueprints. Certification in J-STD and IPC-610 is preferred; a path for growth and training is available.

Qualifications

• Experience with set-up, operation and troubleshooting of surface mount technology and microscope soldering.
• SMT equipment programming is desirable.
• Must pass J-STD and IPC-610 certification to perform duties.
• Fluent in reading blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate SMT machines and inspect products per IPC-A-610 Class 3.
• Maintain solder paste stencils and ensure even screen printing.
• Replenish SMT components, verify placement, values and polarity.
• Follow documentation and review routings for correct programs.
• Perform X-Ray inspection to ensure customer requirements.
• May train other employees and assist in orientation of new staff.
• Perform rework using rework machines and occasional hand soldering.
