Job summary

Acara Solutions, Inc. is seeking an SMT assembly operator in New York with at least 1+ year of experience programming and operating SMT pick and place equipment. You will read prints, set up machines, manage soldering steps, and help ensure high quality production.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting, records maintenance, and collaborating with teams to meet production standards. This role fits a hands-on, detail-oriented candidate in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Reads and follows assembly prints, schematics, work instructions, drawings, procedures, and specifications.
• Performs set-up and programming of automated SMT pick and place machines to manufacture PC Boards to meet production and performance standards.
• Operates reflow oven, screen printer, and stencil cleaner
• Performs touch-up soldering as needed.
• Keeps accurate and up-to-date records.
• Participates in troubleshooting and problem solving.
• Recognizes equipment and product problems, notifies supervisor, and/or troubleshoots errors in order to achieve optimum production levels.
• Interfaces with others to communicate issues, troubleshoot failures, and maintain a high standard of quality and repeatability in processes, products, and machinery
• Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

What You’ll Bring:

• 1+ year experience programming and operating SMT automated pick and place equipment.

• Ability to perform basic reading, writing, and math functions
• Ability to identify components, read blueprints, schematics, work instructions, BOMs, drawings
• Ability to work independently
• Familiarity with IPC standards and ESD precautions
• Need to recognize problems in the process or with components and resolve problems as soon as possible
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Good hand‑eye coordination
• Must be able to stand for extended period
