What You’ll Do
- Perform precision hand soldering and rework on surface-mount (SMT) and through-hole components.
- Assemble and prepare electronic and mechanical components using drawings, bills of material, routing sheets, and work instructions.
- Inspect solder joints and completed assemblies for quality, correct placement, polarity, cleanliness, and workmanship in accordance with IPC-A-610 standards.
- Use soldering irons, hot-air/rework equipment, microscopes, hand tools, fixtures, and other production equipment safely and effectively.
- Complete production records, traceability documentation, in-process inspections, and report defects or process issues promptly.
- Follow ESD, safety, quality, environmental, and company procedures while maintaining a clean and organized workstation.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts focused on quality, productivity, cost, and delivery.
Job Requirements
What You’ll Bring
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2+years of experience with surface-mount soldering
What Sets You Apart
- 1+year of electronic assembly, hand soldering, or related manufacturing experience.
- Experience soldering surface-mount and through-hole components.
- IPC-A-610 and/or J-STD-001 training or certification is preferred; equivalent demonstrated knowledge and skill will be considered.
- Prior experience assembling flowmeters, instrumentation, or other precision electronic products
- Demonstrated ability to produce consistent, acceptable solder joints and recognize common soldering defects.
- Ability to read and follow work instructions, drawings, bills of material, assembly documentation, and basic component identification markings.
- Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and ability to perform precise repetitive work.
- Ability to use microscopes or other magnification equipment for extended periods as required by the work.
- Basic math, reading, writing, and computer skills needed to complete production and quality records.
- Ability to work independently after training and collaboratively within a production team.
- Soldering Skills Assessment
- Successful completion of a practical soldering test is to qualify for this position
