Job summary

Acara Solutions is seeking an SMT Operator in Lockport, NY for a 6 to 9 month temporary role. You will program and run automated SMT pick and place machines to assemble PC boards, following prints and specifications, while maintaining records and aiding in troubleshooting.

The position requires 1+ year SMT programming/operation experience and a Mon-Fri 7am–3:30pm schedule, with opportunity for growth within the global staffing leader.

Qualifications

• 1+ year experience programming and operating SMT automated pick and place equipment.

Responsibilities

• Reads and follows assembly prints, schematics, work instructions, drawings, procedures, and specifications.
• Performs set-up and programming of automated SMT pick and place machines to manufacture PC Boards to meet production and performance standards.
• Operates reflow oven, screen printer, and stencil cleaner
• Performs touch-up soldering as needed.
• Keeps accurate and up-to-date records.
• Participates in troubleshooting and problem solving.
• Recognizes equipment and product problems, notifies supervisor, and/or troubleshoots errors in order to achieve optimum production levels.
• Interfaces with others to communicate issues, troubleshoot failures, and maintain a high standard of quality and repeatability in processes, products, and machinery
• Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

What You'll Bring

• 1+ year experience programming and operating SMT automated pick and place equipment.

• Ability to perform basic reading, writing, and math functions
• Ability to identify components, read blueprints, schematics, work instructions, BOMs, drawings
• Ability to work independently
• Familiarity with IPC standards and ESD precautions
• Need to recognize problems in the process or with components and resolve problems as soon as possible
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Good hand-eye coordination
• Must be able to stand for extended period
