Job summary

GE Aerospace seeks an SMS Focal to coordinate with site Plant Leaders and site Quality Leaders to develop, implement, and maintain a Safety Management System for the AIPT. The role fosters a proactive safety culture and drives continuous improvement in product safety performance.

The role collaborates with cross-functional teams to identify, assess, and mitigate product safety risks while ensuring regulatory compliance and advancement of the enterprise SMS program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required or high school diploma with at least 4 years of quality assurance experience in a manufacturing or aerospace environment.
• Minimum 3 years of quality assurance experience in a manufacturing or aerospace environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of the AIPT's SMS in alignment with enterprise SMS team and industry best practices.
• Facilitate risk identification, analysis, and mitigation through collaboration with SAT/SRB groups.
• Prepare and submit product safety performance reports to the Accountable SMS Delegate and enterprise SMS team as required.
• Monitor site-level compliance with enterprise SMS policies through audits and inspections.
• Support product Safety Risk Management within change management initiatives.
• Provide SMS and Human Factors training to employees across all levels of the AIPT.
• Facilitate distribution of product safety information and drive initiatives to improve performance.
• Act as liaison between site operations and enterprise SMS team and collaborate with other sites to share lessons learned.
• Track and analyze product safety performance metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
