Job summary

Woodward Inc. is seeking an SMS Manager to lead safety governance and the ongoing deployment of the product Safety Management System for FS&C. You will partner with site and engineering teams to embed safety principles across design, development, production, and service activities.

The role requires driving hazard identification, risk-based decision making, safety assurance, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement with strong leadership and collaboration.

Qualifications

• Leadership and cross-functional collaboration across sites.
• Strong SMS governance and product safety risk management.
• Quality assurance with corrective action and continuous improvement.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and data analysis skills.
• Technical knowledge in quality, safety, or manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and sustain the SMS in line with policy across units.
• Support SMS elements: Policy, Risk, Assurance, Promotion.
• Develop SMS processes, procedures, and governance records.
• Coordinate periodic SMS policy reviews for relevance.
• Support governance meetings and action tracking.
• Maintain safety item worklist and containment actions.
• Coordinate cross-functional inputs for safety decisions.
• Collaborate with product owner on safety issues.
