Job summary

GE Aerospace seeks an SMS Focal to partner with site leadership and drive the Safety Management System across Terre Haute, IN and GE-Indy locations. The role focuses on standardizing SMS deployment, risk assessment, incident reporting, and continuous improvement to strengthen product safety culture and regulatory alignment.

The position involves collaboration with cross-functional teams, training, and integration of FLIGHT DECK standards to promote proactive safety performance across sites.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development, implementation, standardization, and maintenance of the site Safety Management System.
• Facilitate product safety risk identification, assessment, and mitigation across the site.
• Coordinate product safety investigations and reporting to enterprise SMS leadership.
• Monitor compliance with enterprise SMS policies, standards, and requirements; support audits.
• Support change management initiatives with product safety considerations.
• Provide SMS training and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with the enterprise SMS team and other GE Aerospace sites.
• Track safety performance metrics and drive continuous improvement in safety outcomes.
• Implement FLIGHT DECK standards in daily work and drive process standardization.
