Job summary

GE Aerospace seeks a qualified professional to lead the Safety Management System (SMS) implementation and related risk management across sites. The role emphasizes training, audits, and continuous improvement in product safety performance.

The position requires strong leadership, clear communication, and the ability to influence policy and drive programs, including FLIGHT DECK adoption and change initiatives. Travel up to 25% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or a high school diploma/GED with 4+ years in manufacturing, quality, compliance, or SMS experience plus 5+ years manufacturing, quality, compliance, or SMS experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing, quality, compliance, or SMS experience.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% and ability to travel to GE sites as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead Safety Management System (SMS) implementation, maintenance, and documentation.
• Facilitate Safety Risk Management (SRM) through SAT/SRB collaboration.
• Prepare and submit product safety performance reports to key stakeholders.
• Monitor site-level SMS compliance and conduct regular audits and inspections.
• Support Change Management within product Safety Risk Management initiatives.
• Provide SMS and Human Factors training, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
• Drive cross-site collaboration to share lessons learned and align with SMS objectives.
• Track safety performance metrics and identify improvement opportunities.
• Implement FLIGHT DECK standards and standard work across teams for consistent performance.
• Manage a small to medium team of senior professionals and influence area strategy.
• Interpret business challenges and apply best practices to improve products and processes.
