Job summary

Lowes Foods in the United States is seeking a Smokehouse team member to deliver friendly service, engage guests, and ensure high standards in the deli and meat department. You will work with guests, prepare samples, and uphold sanitation and HACCP requirements while assisting with merchandising and product quality.

Responsibilities include meat preparation, stocking, and customer service, plus ability to read directions and operate in a fast-paced environment.

• Ability to lift 25 lbs consistently and 50 lbs occasionally.
• Previous meat cutting/trimming experience.
• Culinary knowledge and/or background preferred.
• Ability to read and understand information and direction.
• Knowledge of deli and meat department operations.
• Demonstrated ability to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements.
• Effective communication, guest service, and selling skills.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to bend, kneel and stand for extended periods.
• Ability to take direction from supervision.
• Ability to work well with computers.

Responsibilities

• Provides fun, friendly and engaging service.
• Actively engage guests through Smokehouse samples and story-selling.
• Perform activities outlined in the Pit Master character performance description.
• Operate the department according to merchandising and operational standards.
• Ensure the quality of product for sale meets Lowes Foods standards.
• Maintain sanitation and safety throughout the department according to Lowes Foods standards.
• Perform product preparation, receiving, ordering, stocking and guest service as necessary.
• Maintain HACCP required product information log sheets as necessary.
• Perform light meat cutting duties as needed.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by management.
• Perform PA announcements.
